The Agreement
By using Furcast, you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy. We are keeping this plain: Furcast is a weather app, and these terms explain what the app does, what it does not promise, and how paid features work.
What Furcast Does
Furcast shows current weather, forecasts, radar, weather alerts, widgets, saved locations, and weather-themed app views. Optional Furcast Plus features may include more saved locations, iCloud sync, daily briefings, rain start/stop nudges, longer radar playback, historical comparisons, and normal-weather context.
Privacy
Furcast does not sell your information, run ads, use analytics or tracking SDKs, or build marketing profiles. The app still needs some data to work, such as weather locations, saved locations, notification settings, widget snapshots, and subscription status. The Privacy Policy explains what is used and why.
Location and Weather Requests
By using location-based weather features, you allow Furcast to use the location being viewed to request weather. Normal Furcast API requests round latitude and longitude to 2 decimal places before sending them. Requests can also include the requested weather datasets, timezone, language, and country code. Location search, readable place names, App Store purchases, iCloud sync, push notifications, and direct WeatherKit fallback are handled by Apple services under Apple’s terms and policies.
Weather Is Not a Promise
Weather data, radar, forecasts, statistics, and alerts can be wrong, delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. Furcast displays weather information from Apple WeatherKit, public radar and alert sources, and related weather providers, but we do not control those sources and cannot guarantee accuracy. Do not rely only on Furcast for safety-critical decisions. For severe weather or emergencies, check official sources such as the National Weather Service, local authorities, and emergency alerts.
Service Availability
Furcast’s API, radar service, widgets, background refreshes, push alerts, iCloud sync, StoreKit, WeatherKit, MapKit, and other supporting services may be unavailable, rate limited, delayed, or changed over time. We may adjust caching, request routing, feature availability, or fallback behavior to keep the app working.
Notifications and Alerts
If you allow notifications, Furcast may register your device for severe-weather push alerts. Furcast Plus may also schedule local daily briefing and rain start/stop notifications on your device. Notifications are best-effort. They may be delayed, missing, duplicated, or affected by device settings, Apple services, network conditions, background refresh limits, or weather data availability.
Subscriptions
Furcast Plus is optional and is managed through the App Store. The purchase sheet shows the available plans, prices, trial details when offered, and renewal terms before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage, cancel, or restore subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
When Plus Ends
If your Furcast Plus subscription ends, paid features may stop working. Data you saved, such as favorite locations or synced preferences, may remain on your device or in iCloud until you delete it or change your Apple/iCloud settings. Existing saved locations above the free limit may be preserved, but adding more can require Plus.
Your Responsibilities
Use Furcast for normal weather checking. Do not attack, overload, scrape, abuse, reverse-engineer, bypass payment, misuse API keys, interfere with the service, or use Furcast in ways that violate the law or harm other people.
Furcast Content
The Furcast name, app design, artwork, writing, code, and other original content belong to Five-Thirds, LLC or its licensors. You may use them through the app as intended. These terms do not give you permission to copy, resell, or redistribute Furcast or its content outside the app.
Limitation of Liability
Furcast is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for losses or damages from using or being unable to use the app, including inaccurate weather data, missed alerts, service interruptions, subscription issues, or decisions you make based on weather information.
Changes
We may update these terms as Furcast changes. If we update them, we will change the date above. Continuing to use Furcast after an update means you accept the updated terms.
